Obituary
Richard Allan "Rick" VanBergen, age 62 of Pentwater, passed away December 28, 2010. Rick was born May 20, 1948 in Hart, Michigan to Albert and Doris (Nutenbaum) VanBergen.
Rick graduated from Hart High School and attended Central Michigan University. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War and was employed at Whitehall Products as a purchasing agent before retiring in 2007.
Rick loved fishing the Pentwater River, watching college football (especially the University of Michigan) and professional football. He loved his family and would do anything possible to help his family and friends. Rick will be fondly remembered for his kindness and concern, and his hearty laughter.
Rick is survived by his mother, Doris A. VanBergen of Hart; eight brothers, Tom and Jack of Hart, Don of Muskegon, Mickey (Kathryn)of Hart, Jim (Julie) of North Muskegon, Jerry of Hart, Denny (Renee) of Houston, Texas and Chuck (Toni) VerBergen of Whitehall; three sisters, Anne Hardy of Pentwater, Linda (Mark) Seyfred of Franklin, Tennessee and Nancy Olds of Whitehall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service celebrating Rick's life will be held on January 8, 2011. The family requests your emotional support and prayers during this difficult time. Arrangements are by King Funeral Home of Hart.
