Mr. Richard George Wells, age 69, of Mears, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013. He was born November 28, 1943, in Detroit, to Leland and Josephine (Ruzich) Wells. He was employed as a millwright at United Erectors of Rockford, Michigan. On May 12, 1961 in Hart, he married Barbara Fuller, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1998. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Oceana Eagles and a life member of the N.R.A. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Jesse) Moschke of Shelby, Bridget (Glen) Klomp of Montague; six step-sons, Bruce (Lisa) Snider of Arizona, Jerry (Deb) Snider of Indiana, Jon (Nanette Bowen) Snider of Grand Rapids, Brian (Monica) Snider of Hart, Jack (Dawn) Snider of Grand Rapids, and Ben (Kelly) Snider of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Mike (Sandy) Fuller of Hart, Chuck (Marcia) Wells of Florida, Steve (Monica) Fuller of Colorado; his mother Josephine Fuller of Arizona; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Wambaugh, Brian (Brooke) Flanery, Summer Klomp, Kaiden Flanery, Drew Snider, Mike Crosley, Tony Smith, Lacy (Jim) Green, Jake Snider, Max Snider, Aaron (Shannon) Snider, Amy Snider, Reed Snider, Lauren (Scott) Hoekstra, Tyson Irey, Hayley Smith, and Alynah Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wells; his son, Brian Wells on June 14, 1975; his step-father, Sidney B. Fuller; and his companion, Sharon M. Snider on September 25, 2012.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. Wells will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Oceana Eagles in Hart. The family requests that any memorials be directed to American Lung Association, 25900 Greenfield Rd. Ste. 610, Oak Park, IL 48237.
