Richard William Richardson, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, December 16, 2023. He was born March 11, 1942, in Livonia, the son of Enric and Nina (Rogers) Richardson.

Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Known as a master tinkerer, model train enthusiast, and automotive virtuoso. Richard had an extraordinary gift for fixing cars by ear. His intuitive understanding of engines, gears, and the symphony of mechanical sounds allowed him to diagnose and remedy automotive issues with uncanny precision. Richard dedicated much of his career to Ford Motor Company, retiring from the Livonia plant after years of service.

Richard is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Joan Richardson; children, David Richardson, Kim (Jay) McDougall, Kathy (Chris) Holmes, and Daniel Richardson; grandchildren, Kyle (Jodi) McDougall, Brandon (Tabitha) McDougall, Shannan Richardson, Chad Richardson, Briana Holmes, and Ethan Richardson; great-grandchild, Raif McDougal; and sister, Jeanie (Harvey) DeWitt.

Richard was preceded in death by: his brother, Eric Paul Richardson; and sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Emmit Allen.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
