Rickie Thomas Moneyhun Jr., 39, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021. He was born June 11, 1982, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of Rickie Sr. and Betty Lou (Burgess) Moneyhun.

Rickie was an avid sports fan. Some of his favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Muskegon Lumberjacks, and various college teams, but most notably the Louisiana State University football team. Besides watching sports, he also enjoyed collecting memorabilia and sports cards. Rickie played hockey with the Grand Rapids Sled Wings, and was very close with all of his teammates.

Rickie is survived by his loving parents, Rickie Sr. and Betty Lou Moneyhun; aunts and uncles, Randy (Sue) Burgess, Alfred (J'nice) Burgess, Robert (Carmen) Burgess, and Billy John Winger; grandmothers, Harriet Winger and Hope Denton; and numerous cousins.

Rickie was preceded in death by: his aunt, Sharon Burgess; and grandfathers, Charles Burgess and William Winger.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall, 900 S. Warner Street, Whitehall, MI 49461, with Pastor Tom Beeghly officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery, Whitehall.
