Rita L. Hansen, 85, of Traverse City, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at French Manor in Traverse City.  She was born September 28, 1935, in Grand Traverse County, the daughter of Edward and Iva (Donathan) Crouch.

Rita worked in the insurance industry, retiring as Head of Human Resources.  She was a member of Grawn United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed feeding the birds, watching Jeaopardy!, and Wheel of Fortune.  Rita cherished time spent with her family, and she especially loved being a grandma.

Rita is survived by: her grandchildren, Corey Hansen, Eddie Hansen Jr., and Jennifer Hansen, all of Traverse City; her great-grandchildren, Katey Hodges and Chloe Hansen-Umulis; her sister, Wanda Korb of Traverse City; and Ben Jr.'s wife and her daughter-in-law, Christine Bazzett.

Rita was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Bernard Hansen; her sons, Bernard "Ben" Hansen Jr. and Edward "Ward" Hansen; and her sister, Beatrice Houghton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, with the Reverend Sean Barton officiating.  Interment will follow in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in Traverse City.  Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Friday, May 21, 2021, at the funeral home.

Unvaccinated guests are required to wear masks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
