Robert "Bob" Charles Hartson Jr., 81, of Montague, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at his home. He was born November 15, 1939, in Watertown, New York, the son of Robert Sr. and Alice (Powers) Hartson. Bob was a retired US Marine, restaurant owner, and published numerous poems and novels.

Bob is survived by: his wife of 21 years, Linda Sue Hartson; children, Lisa (Eric) Berns, Dawn Hartson, Angela Hartson, Adam (Baily) Hartson, James (Carrie) Arnouts, and Anthony Arnouts; grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Blake, Matthew, Jenny, Katie, Anna, Elly, Liberty, Elizabeth, Jacob, Jonny, Liam, and Rosie; six great- grandchildren; and sisters, Roberta MacAnneny and Kathy Deskins; and brothers, Brian (Alice) Hartson, Merrill Hartson, Mitchell (Billie Kay) Hartson, and John (Darlene) Gaines.

Bob was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Alicia Arnouts; son, Robert C. Hartson III; and brother, Craig Hartson.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Whitehall American Legion Algot Johnson Post #69, 803 East Colby Street, Whitehall, MI 49461, with a luncheon to follow. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Boy's Town of America.
