Robert "Rob" James Irving, 71, of Maple City, died Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home. He was born December 1, 1952, in Traverse City, the son of Robert "Bob" and Charlene (Freeborn) Irving.

Rob was currently employed at Builders FirstSource, in Grawn, as Safety Manager.  He had previously worked in the oil industry as a tool specialist and traveled the world for Baker Hughes.  In his spare time, Rob enjoyed fishing and watching the birds and his old time Western movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

During a sunrise ceremony on July 28, 1973, Rob married Peggy Jean Sanborn who survives him.  He is also survived by: his sons, Joshua Irving of Maple City and Seth Irving of Maple City; grandchild, Bee Irving of East Lansing; sister-in-law, Sheryl Irving of Fife Lake; niece, Christel Irving of Fife Lake; and great-nephews, Joe Irving, Caleb Cowen, and Jacob Cowen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Mark Irving.

No services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
