Robert "Bob" Charles Lash, 78, of Montague, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 30, 1938, in Gladwin, Michigan, the son of Eldon and Hazel (VanHorn) Lash.
Bob was a mechanic at H. Delong Trucking, in Muskegon, for over 42 years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, camping, bowling and playing cards. He also enjoyed being a member of the White Lake Eagles Aerie #3214, the Oceana Eagles Aerie #3167, and the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555.
Bob is survived by: his children, Susan Cavanaugh of Greenville, South Carolina, Robert D. (Carolyn) Lash of Montague, and Sharon Lash of Montague; 6 grandchildren, Sara (Cris) Wood, Justin (Ali) Mulder, Stacey (Shane) Snyder, Shelley (C.J.) Armstrong, Michael (Malisha) Lash and Matthew Lash; 5 great-grandchildren, Peyton Wood, Callen Wood, Aubrey Snyder, Chris Lash and Shea Lash; his special granddog, Jozey; his brother, Fred (Lisa) Lash of Muskegon; his sisters, Jackie (Sam) Chilcote of Twin Lake, and Dixie (Leo) Hutchinson of Ludington; and several nieces and nephews.
On September 26, 1959, in Shelby, Bob married Martha Mae White, who preceded him in death in 2010. He was also preceded in death by 2 children, Sandra Lash and Anthony Lash.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 2, 2017, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, in Whitehall, with Pastor Mark Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM, at the funeral home.
