Robert E. Padecky, age 86, of Mears, Michigan passed away December 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Mears on December 12, 1924 to Emil and Katherine (Jourdan) Padecky. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Padecky married Barbara Jean McCauley on August 18, 1950 in Muskegon and they remained happily married for 59 years until Barbara's death on June 3, 2010.

He retired from Sealed Power after 40 years serving in quality control. He attended Mears Community Methodist Church. He loved dancing with his bride, deer hunting and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Hart Eagles, VFW and American Legion. He built his own homes. Along with his wife, Mr. Padecky traveled to all 50 states.

Mr. Padecky is survived by his children, David Padecky of Muskegon and Diane Hatt of Grand Haven; five grandchildren, Donovan Padecky, Davina Padecky, Gregory Hatt, Jordan Hatt and Lauren Hatt; one sister, Bette Shafer of Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara, sisters, Viola Hart and Ann Walsworth.

Funeral services for Mr. Padecky will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010, 11:00 am at Mears Community Methodist Church with Pastor Ken VanderLaan officiating. Interment will be in Mears Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the King Funeral Home in Hart. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
