Robert Lee Rogalke, age 86, passed on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born to F. Rudolph and Minnie (Hathaway) Rogalke on April 14, 1930 in Ludington, Michigan. He married Jean Dostal on February 8, 1958. She preceded him in death on August 16, 1999.

Bob, affectionately known as Dob and Dobber, was a lifelong resident of Ludington. He graduated from Ludington High School and joined the United States Army, serving two years during the Korean War. Upon his return, Bob began his career at Consumers Power Company, from which he retired in July of 1992 after 42 years of service.

Bob was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 76 (life member), Dear Brothers Association (a founding member) and the Ludington Boat Club. For years, he enjoyed being part of the chain gang for the LHS football games. His hobbies included softball, bowling, golfing, boating and playing cards.

Bob worked hard and played hard. He had a zest for life that was contagious and will be remembered for his friendship and kindness. Bob was quick with a smile and wave, always having a kind word for everyone he met.

Surviving are his children, Bob (Deb) Rogalke of Lowell and Diane (Mike) Rinnan of Traverse City; grandchildren Morgan, Abby and John Rogalke and Kate and Kyle Rinnan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; sister, Marian Johnson; parents and in-laws.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Rogalke will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 28, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Boehne officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the main service at church. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
