Obituary

Robert "Bob" Boyd Seelhoff, 65, of Ludington, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Medilodge of Ludington.  He was born April 15, 1953, in Hart, the son of Stanley and Lenore (Peterson) Seelhoff.

Bob retired from Urka Auto Center in 2018, where he had been employed for 40 years, starting out as a salesman and later becoming the finance manager.  Bob was a life member of the Scottville Clown Band, a member of the Oceana County Goodfellows, and the Elks of Ludington. Bob was also a member of the Ludington Boat Club where he was on the team that chaired the Ludington Boat Club's Benefit for Hospice, helping to raise over $165,000 in the 20 plus years he was involved.

Bob enjoyed boating, hunting, snowmobiling, playing golf, and when he was younger, racing stock cars on the dirt tracks.  Bob also enjoyed traveling, especially the trips to St. Ignace for whitefish.   Most of all, Bob loved talking to people and sharing his stories.  He was an avid Michigan State Spartans fan and watched all types of sporting events. For several years Bob was a scout for the Hart High School Football Team.

Bob was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater where he even served as a Sunday school teacher, and had also been a member of the Hart United Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by: his mother, Lenore Westrate of Hart; his nephew who was like his son, Michael Olson of Ludington; his sisters-in-law, Jane Seelhoff of Mears, Nancy (Jerry) McAnnally of The Villages, Florida, and Christine Olson of Ludington; his brother-in-law, Warren (Gail) Olson of Grand Rapids; his nieces and nephews, Michelle (Thomas) Mattson of Hart, Sean (Amy Edens) Seelhoff of Freesoil, David (Kirstin) Seelhoff of Rockford, Tom (Kandi) McAnnally of Clarkston, Steve (Kate) McAnnally of Arvada, Colorado, Jonathan Olson of Grand Rapids, and Amanda Olson of Milwaukee; 2 great-nieces, Maddie and Linnea; and 2 great-nephews, Lars and John.

On October 28, 1978, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington, Bob married Catherine Susan Olson who preceded him in death on November 5, 2017.  He was also preceded in death by: his father, Stanley Seelhoff; his step-father, Marvin Westrate; and his brother, John Seelhoff.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington, with Pastor Ben Lester officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 PM until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be to Robert Seelhoff Trust Fund through West Shore Bank to help with final expenses.
