Robert Gordon Suttorp, 90, of Spring Lake, passed away peacefully at home Monday, August 24, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born April 16, 1936, in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Marie (Helm) Suttorp.

On October 4, 1958, Robert married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Kokx, and together they shared 67 loving years together until her passing in February of this year.

Robert spent many years working for Grand Rapids Die Cast until deciding to open his own business. At the age of 62, he decided to retire and spend his time making memories on many road trip adventures.

Robert is survived by: his children, David (Lucy) Suttorp, Cheryl (Richard) Anderson, and Brenda (Mark) Paulak; sister, Joann; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by: his wife of 67 years, Barbara Jean Suttorp; parents, John and Marie Suttorp; and brothers, Gene Suttorp and Johnny Suttorp.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
