Obituary

Roger Dale Kirwin (63) of Walkerville passed away peacefully November 18, 2011, with his loving family by his side, after a very brave battle with pancreatic cancer. After proudly serving in the US Army as a scout dog handler with the 44th Scout Dogs in Vietnam, he married Connie Perry. Roger was an electrician with the UAW and retired from Howmet Alcoa after 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was always on the go. Roger enjoyed traveling through the State, visiting cemeteries to pay respects at the grave sites of Medal of Honor recipients.
Roger is survived by his wife of 42 years, Connie; their son, Richard, daughters, Kam (Abe) Farias and Kally (Jason) Riggs; his brother, Sam Kirwin and sister, Susan (Jerry) Aiken; grandchildren, AB and Isaac Farias, Roxanne, Savannah, and Richard Kirwin, Jessica and Hannah Riggs; brother-in-law, Ron Perry; sisters-in-law, Judde (Ron) Sanders and Pam (Leo) Hall; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Orpha (Taylor) Kirwin.
