Peterson
February 25, 1933 – May 17, 2022
Roger D. Peterson, 89, of Mears, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. He was born February 25, 1933, in Flint, son of Julius and Muriel Peterson.
Roger proudly served his country in the US Navy, aboard the USS Midway, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He later retired after 33 years at AC Spark Plug, in Flint, Michigan.
Roger, his wife, Annette, and his lifelong friend, Darwin Smith, ministered through music as the Harmonaires Trio. He was also an avid sailor, and enjoyed life and retirement on the lake.
A faithful man, Roger was a volunteer with Drive-In Ministries, and even designed a mobile screen for the ministries. He and his wife were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Hart.
Roger is survived by: his children, Scott (Kimberly) Peterson, Linda Peterson, and Wendy (Jeff) Meyers; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin) Vermeer, David Peterson, Anthony (Krystal) Peterson, Jesse (Jenna) Meyers, Troy (Chelsea) Peterson, Michael (Adrianna) Peterson, Deanna Meyers, Ross Peterson, Evan Meyers, Stephen Peterson, and Joanna Peterson; and great-grandchild, Charles Vermeer.
Roger was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Annette Peterson; and son, Lee Peterson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 PM, May 26, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Hart, 3258 North 72 nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420, with Pastor Mark Looman officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 5:00 PM until the time of services at the church.
