Mrs. Romaine E. Freeland, age 87, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at the home of Neal and Florence Collins after a long illness. She was born in Ravenna, MI on February 19, 1920 to Michael and Emma (Conote) Bromley. She was married in Pentwater on July 6, 1936 to Lawrence Freeland. Mrs. Freeland lived most of her life in Pentwater. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and was an avid quilt maker all of her life. Although she could not always attend, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pentwater. She is survived by 3 sons, Elmo (Marion) Freeland of Pentwater, Henry Freeland of Pentwater and Laval (Anita) Freeland of Ludington; 3 daughters, Mary Glover of Pentwater, Florence (Neal) Collins of Rothbury and Flora Outcalt of Ludington; Thirteen grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren; brother, Glen Bromley of Kaleva, MI; sister, Ada Sayle of Mass City, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Emma Bromley, husband, Lawrence Freeland; 3 sons, Vern, Lawrence and Edward Freeland; 2 sisters Beverly Hawke and Josephine Boon; 8 brothers, Otis, Orville, Marion, Bernard, James, Edward, Harold and Howard Bromley; granddaughter, Barbara Beard. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Freeland will be held Monday, December 31, 2007 at Eleven O'clock from the First Baptist Church of Pentwater with Pastor Mark Lillie officiating. Interment in North Weare Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Pentwater.
