In Loving Memory of Ronald Francis Spring
July 13, 1928 – October 23, 2024

Ronald Francis Spring passed peacefully from this world on the morning of Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 13, 1928, to Frank Phillip and Olga (Cheplevich) Spring, Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His life was a testament to love, faith, and commitment to family and community.

0n September 16, 1948, Ron married the love of his life, Jeanette Jane Murphy. Together, they built a family rooted in resilience and love. Jeanette was his partner in all things until her passing in 1994. Their union has become a lasting legacy, woven through the lives of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A natural sportsman, Ron found joy and purpose in the great outdoors, spending countless hours in Michigan's lakes, rivers, and forests. His love of nature inspired him to continue his family's business, Spring's Tackle and Bait, transforming it from a humble setup on his parents' porch into a successful storefront, complete with an archery range. Ron's devotion to the outdoors made him a skilled and enthusiastic fisherman and hunter, passing down his knowledge and passion through generations.

Ron's faith and community involvement were at the heart of his life. As a devoted Christian and active member of St. James Catholic Church in Montague, he attended and led numerous Cursillo retreats, growing in faith and helping others deepen their own spiritual journeys. An honorary member of Muskegon Bowmen's Archery Club and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, from the beginning, Ron was well-respected in his community, admired for his spirit of service and the warmth and friendship he extended to everyone he met.

To his family, Ron was the light that shone brightest. He had an extraordinary way of letting each family member know they were his "favorite," filling each heart with love and joy.  In secret, in our hearts, each of us knew we were truly his "favorite".  His legacy lives on in his surviving family; Kathleen Marie Mayette of Muskegon; Jean Lynn and James Taylor of Fruitport, Michigan; Charles and Lucille Helen Eilers of Montague; Bruce and Rhonda Williams of Montague; Linda Dahl of Hesperia; Edward Michael Spring of Holton; and Steve and Loretta Lubbers of Muskegon. Michael (Esther) Pearo. His grandchildren: Dion Mayette, Ann Hernandez, Jeanette Laarman, Tracey Mayette, Jamey Tourcotte, Angela Raap, Angel Elliott, Doris Pearo, Jason Mayette, Chris Bray, David Sparks, Ron Spring, Danielle Farr, Michelle DeBack, Kerry Veltman, Amy Spring, Amanda Vanderberg, Richard Williams, and many great grandchildren.

In addition to Jeanette, his beloved wife (1994), Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Frank (1961) and Olga (1986); his brothers, Phillip Donald Spring (2016) and James Anthony Spring Jr. (2006); his sister, Joanne Petronella Morris (2018); his daughter, Esther (Spring) Pearo (2019); and his great-grandson, James Anthony Hernandez (2020), Tim Walcott (2019).

Today, we celebrate Ron's life as the cornerstone of his family, a beloved friend, and a devoted member of his community. His was a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He prayed unceasingly for his family while on earth, and now he will watch over them from heaven. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he loved, and may his spirit continue to guide and inspire his family and friends always.
Thank you pa for being our dad! Rest in peace. . . Amen.
