Mrs. Rose L. Landis, age 88, died, Saturday, March 31, 2007. She was born May 6, 1918 in Chicago to Stanley and Agnes Janus. Rose married Raymond William Landis on March 30, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1992. They moved to Hart from Chicago in 1945. She worked briefly at the Pentwater Wire Products and later at Urick's Dry Cleaners in Hart. Rose volunteered at the Oceana Council on Aging and made many friends there. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband Ray. Rose was a member of the Hart United Methodist Church for many years and more recently became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Carol (Avery) Wilson of Mears and Lillian (Ronald) Kokx of Hart, her son, Raymond (Carol) Landis of Midland, MI; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Wilson, Kristine (Tom) Sape, Michael (Fran) Kokx, Christopher (Ann) Landis, Kelli (Dave) Quick, and Kathryn Landis and her fiancee' Chad Gallihugh; 9 great grandchildren and1 great-great grandchild; sister, Josephine Wylie of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, brother, Frank Janus; 3 sisters, Bernice Kane, Frances Janus Emily Janus. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered Monday, April 9, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare with Fr. Anton Tran presiding. Interment in the Hart Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the church, one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be given to the Crystal Valley Care Fund or Harbor Hospice.
