Royce Donald Genson, of Lakewood Club, passed away in the very home he was born in. He fought a fierce 8 year fight against cancer that ended Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Royce, better known as "Pudgie", was born June 9, 1948, son to Leland and Violet (Russell) Genson. He was the youngest of five children. He worked 29 years for Sears and Roebuck, before owning Pudgies Fox Lake General Store, located in Lakewood Club. He married the former Kathleen Slusser on October 19, 1968, and together they had two daughters, Treana and Holly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a lifetime member of the Fox Lake Rod & Gun Club. He was always up for an ice cold beer, good time and had a lot of fun doing so in his 71 year life. Royce was a strong, funny, well respected man who made a lasting impression (good or bad) on everyone who crossed his path.

He will be deeply missed by: his wife of 51 years, Kathi; daughters, Treana (Jeff) All and Holly (Ben) Freed; grandchildren, Bree (Brandon), Arielle, Benji, Violet, Lexi, Dylan, Tristan, Iris, and Royce; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Bretton, and Winston; brother, Floyd (Cherry) Genson; sister, Angie (Bob) Sliwinski; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Leland and Violet Genson; brothers, Jake and Bob Genson; grandson, Jerry All, and many wonderful friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
