Russell Kenneth Lentz, age 83, of Pentwater passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born October 19, 1927 in Oceana County to Carl and Josie (Purdy) Lentz. He married Alberta Marme December 24, 1948 and she preceded him in death January 5, 2001. He married Veneta A. Willard November 7, 1970 in Pentwater. He was retired from the Oceana County Road Commission after 43 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Lentz had been a member of the Pentwater Fire Department and the Oceana Eagles where he enjoyed the Bowling Leagues.

Mr. Lentz is survived by his wife, Veneta A. Lentz of Pentwater; children, Suzanne Patterson of Whitehall, Wendy (Steven) Haney of Montague, Cindy Lentz of Whitehall, Janette Clark of Hart, Joane (Ronald) Haight of Muskegon and Frank (Carla) Willard of Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Augusta Graves of Grand Rapids and Hattie Flynn of Pentwater; special nephews, Randy, Mike, Gerald and Larry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alberta Lentz; son, David Lentz; great-grandchild, Ryan Patterson; sisters, Thelma Powers and Gertrude Roth; brothers, Vern and Bud Lentz.

Funeral services for Mr. Lentz are Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pentwater with Pastor Mark Lillie officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart. It is requested that any memorials be directed to the family.
