Mrs. Ruth Katheryne Tubbs, age 94, of Hart, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012. She was born March 9, 1917, in Ludington to Alphonse and Ida (Wilson) Bourgette. Ruth married Donald E. Tubbs in Indiana on June 5, 1934. She was employed at Hart Public Schools in the lunch program, Schram's Bakery in Hart and also the Tate Funeral Home. Ruth loved going camping. She was a talented cook and was famous for her baking. She very much enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by one daughter: Beverly (Larry) Foster of Hart, two sons: Fred (Dianna) Tubbs of Hart and Tom (Diana) Tubbs of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 11 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald E. Tubbs, after 53 years of marriage, on December 3, 1987; daughter, Ruth Ann Corliss on March 20, 1976; son, Gary Tubbs on November 5, 2011; and daughter in law, Beverly Tubbs on July 8, 1989. Also preceding her were three sisters, Etta, Florence, and Edith, and two brothers, Walter and Robert Bourgette. The Funeral Service for Ruth will be Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 11:00 am from the Hart Congregational United Church Of Christ with Pastor Lorraine Boucon officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 at the King Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be directed to American Cancer Society.
