Ruth Ann (Wright) Walker, age 70, of Grand Rapids, passed away at Corewell Spectrum Butterworth, with her children by her side, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.  She was born March 11, 1953, in Shelby, to the late Harry and Audrey (Wolcott) Wright of Hesperia. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Hesperia until poor health brought her to Grand Rapids.

Ruth was employed by Gerber Products Company for 38 years.  She worked in the laundry, on the juice line, and retired in 2015 as a training specialist.

Ruth is survived by: her 3 children, Michelle Pyard, Jim Harrington, and Lea (Tracy)Purtill; her 7 grandchilden, Olivia and Collin Pyard, Cyrus, Shaunna, Ryder, and Jaxon Harrington, and Abby and Zoe Greenberg;  2 great-grandchildren, Jasper Andrews and Novaa Harrington; 3 younger brothers, Bill (Karen) Wright, Rick (Barb) Wright, and Joe (Lorna) Wright; sister, Bonnie (Joe) Fairchild; brother-in-law, Bernie Van Zanten; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by: Linda and Darrel Frees, and Susan Van Zanten.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with family and share memories of Ruth from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Gerber Union Hall, RWDSU Local 530, 5960 South Warner Avenue, Fremont, MI 49412.
