Sharon Marie Dean, 78, of Hart, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart.  She was born October 12, 1938, in Shelby, the daughter of Eugene and Josephine (Schmuck) Shafer.

Sharon was raised in Shelby and went to Shelby High School.  She was a hardworking women who always held down two jobs, yet still never missed her kids sporting events or school activities.  Some of the biggest highlights of her life were being able to go on all of her kids Elbridge 8 ^th Grade Class Trips which took her to Washington D.C., Chicago and Mackinaw Island.  The Washington DC trip was her first trip out of Michigan.  In her spare time, Sharon loved watching the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, big time wrestling, playing Yahtzee, solving word search puzzles, riding her motorcycle, snowmobiling and deer hunting.  She also loved going to casinos with her best friend, Dick Tariske.

Sharon retired from the Oceana County Medical Care Facility where she was proud to have earned the "Employee of the Month" award.

Sharon is survived by: her children, Kelly (Renee), Ninajo (Jimmy), Kari (Steve), and Mark (Beth); her grandchildren, Chad, Bethany (Michael), Autumn (Brent), Emmalee (Dan) and Sarah; her great-grandchildren, Ellen, Logan, Carley, Cameron, Anderson, Whitaker and Gibson; her siblings, Norma (Dale) Rasmussen, Eddie (June) Shafer, Martin (Denise) Shafer, and Jeanne (Willis) Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Dean; her daughter, Bethann; and her grandson, Joseph.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Elbridge Cemetery in Hart.

King Funeral Home and Cremation Service, in Hart, is in charge of arrangements.
