Mrs. Sharon Kay VanderKooi, age 74, of Hart, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born February 12, 1941, in Evart to Thomas E. and Margurite G. (Bohms) Rohen. She graduated from high school and married Lawrence VanderKooi in Muskegon the year of 1964. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1994. Sharon was a homemaker to her family and later in life she became a resident of Oceana County Medical Care Facility where she has resided for the past nineteen years. Sharon always appreciated the staff and volunteers who showered her with love and care. She is survived by one son, Thomas (Carmen) VanderKooi of New Era; one step-son, Greg (Teresa) VanderKooi of Fremont; three granddaughters, Andrea, Kristen, and Katy; two grandsons, Lawrence and Mel; three brothers, Norman, William and Mark Rohen and her sister, Marie Goei; also several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawrence; and brother, Thomas Rohen. The Mass of Resurrection for Mrs. VanderKooi will be offered Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Donn Tufts presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hospice of Michigan, 5177 W. US 10 Ste.
