Mrs. Sherry Lee Shafer, age 62, of Walkerville, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at home.  She was born January 2, 1955, in Montague to Harry and Delores (Love) Kropf.  She was employed at Straits Steel and Wire in Quality Control. Sherry married Jeffrey Shafer on July 29, 1972 at the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church.

Sherry loved gardening, flowers, and animals of all kinds. She was also known for her baking. She also was fond of her ladies that she assisted with housekeeping. Sherry also liked to ride motorcycles.

Sherry is survived by her husband: Jeffrey Shafer of Walkerville; two daughters: Tonya (Joe) Abbatoy of Twin Lake and Shannon (Richard) Sheehy of Walkerville; one son: Jeffrey (Lisa) Shafer of Walkerville; nine grandchildren, Jarret Fatseas, Ann Bosley, Connor Shafer, Anthony Shafer, Alyssa Shafer, Nichole (William) Garvey, Tyler Sheehy, Alex Sheehy, Julie Sheehy. Sherry is also survived by her mother and her other siblings. She was preceded in death by her father and granddaughter, Mackenzie Lee Barrett.

Memorial services for Mrs. Shafer will be conducted Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Hart Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bob officiating.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Shafer family for funeral expenses.
