Shirley Ann Ewald, mother, grandmother, teacher, passed away on June 5, 2022.  She delighted in nothing more than entertaining her family and friends, especially during the holidays, cooking elaborate meals and ensuring that no one left hungry.  Shirley enjoyed reading, card games, and going to the movies with her best friend, Christine.  Her greatest love, though, was her family.  She was the happiest when her children and grandchildren were all together laughing and enjoying each other's company.  Shirley's grandkids truly were the apples of her eye.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Martin (Jack) Ewald.

She is survived by: son, Tracey Ewald and his wife, Anna; and grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlin, Nathan, Janet, and Thomas.  She is also survived by son, MJ Ewald and his wife, Michelle, and grandson Joel.

Her smile and her laughter will be missed.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, with Deacon Tom Bousamra officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
