Obituary

Stephanie Adair Vineyard, 61, died January 9, 2024.  She was born November 23, 1962, in New York City, to Diane and Charles Shields. While she was still an infant, her family moved to Ohio. From there, they moved Dearborn, Michigan.

Stephanie attended Dearborn High School, the Ohio State University, and Western State University College of Law. She married her high school sweetheart, Andrew Vineyard. They lived in California and had three children, Samantha, Heidi, and William.  Unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce and Stephanie lived on her own for several years.  Stephanie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her mid-twenties. The disease progressed  until she was no longer able to live independently so she moved back to Michigan in order to be closer to her mother.

Stephanie is survived by: her mother, Diane Nemitz of Ludington; brother Curtis (Joanne) Shields of Delhi, India; Aunt Shiwa Harris of San Francisco; cousins, Rebecca Guerrera and Elizabeth Harris of California; niece, Shannon Page Shields of New York; and her children.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her father and her infant son.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel with Reverend Mick Shriver officiating.  Light refreshments will follow.  Interment will be held in Athens, Ohio at a later date.
