Mr. Stephen J. Gable, age 56, of Hart, MI. entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 6, 2014 after a courageous five month battle with cancer. He was born in Hart on November 12, 1957, son of John and Gerry Gable. Steve was a 1976 graduate of Hart High School and graduated from Muskegon Community College. He was employed at The Dunes Waterfront Resort in Silver Lake for 20 years and continued to work until September 2nd of this year. Family and friends were important to him and he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. Steve enjoyed the lake, beach and flower gardening. His great joy was his faithful companion of 12 years, his beloved dog Sadie, who he lost in May during his cancer battle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Edward Cliff, Sr. He leaves to mourn his loving sisters, Karen Cliff of Vineland, N.J. and Anne (Doug) Turnquist of Comstock Park, MI; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a Goddaughter.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas Bolster presiding. Interment will take place at Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be held at King Funeral Home Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday morning at St. Gregory Catholic Church one hour prior to the service. The family requests that any memorials be directed to St. Gregory Catholic Church or the Oceana County Animal Shelter.
