Steven Wade Mitchell, 60, of Muskegon, passed away surrounded by family, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, after a long struggle with diabetes and kidney failure. Steven was born on October 9, 1961, in Muskegon, the son of Joseph and Joanne (Wiggers) Mitchell.

Steven's life passion was music. He was a member of Twin Lake United Methodist Church and ran the sound system for them. Steven worked in the construction business for many years in North Carolina. He was also a connoisseur of the charcoal grill and his pulled pork was the best.

Steven's quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Very special thanks to his sister and brother in law, Sonya and Bill, for taking such wonderful care of him, including taking him to his doctor's appointments, surgeries, shopping, cooking and cleaning his home, etc.

Steven is survived by: his mother, Joanne (Jim) Greenert; sisters, Colleen Mitchell and Sonya (Bill) Coughlin; step-brother, Chad Greenert; several close aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by: his father, Joseph Mitchell; and his wife, Debra Coates Mitchell.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Community United Methodist Church, 1614 Ruddiman Drive, North Muskegon, MI 49445. Immediately following, the Service, a luncheon will be held at the Church.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White-Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
