IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven
Snook
September 27, 1951 – August 9, 2017
Steven Benjamin Snook, 65, of Whitehall, passed away suddenly at home Wednesday, August 9, 2017. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on September 27, 1951 to Glenn and Gloria (Benjamin) Snook. Steve had two big sisters at home, and his eagerly awaited arrival completed the family. His sisters reveled in him and delighted in his antics over the coming years.
He had a childhood filled with dogs, water skiing, snow skiing, baseball, golf, fishing, friends and family. He graduated from Whitehall High School and Western Michigan University. Steve worked in education, construction and industry, and eventually retired from Howmet.
In 1988, his best friend and her best friend introduced Steve to the love of his life, Rebecca Smith. A year later, they were married. Together they enjoyed vacations in the Upper Peninsula and Florida, followed sports and especially loved the Detroit Tigers. Truly enjoyed gardening, fishing, mushrooming, birding and just appreciated being together. They also loved exploring the outdoors and ventured down many a two-track together.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Becky; son, Tony Smith (fiancée Katie Ferrentino); sisters, Linda (Doug) Decker, and Judy (Steve) Nevala; uncle, Dick Nyquist; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Ami Smith; and his father-in-law, Bob Simms.
