Mrs. Susan Marie Flores, age 60, of Hart, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015. She was born December 16, 1954, in Ludington to Esquiel and Rafaela (Villareal) Hernandez. She married Israel Flores on October 24, 1973 in Edinburg, TX, and they were married forty-one years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was totally in charge of her family. Susan was employed at Deer Patch Farms in Mears where she worked for twenty-eight years. She loved the beach, dancing, bingo, and her Mexican heritage music including the oldies. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart and Mrs. Flores was also named the Muskegon County Cherry Queen in 1972.
Susan is survived by her husband, Israel Flores, Sr; two daughters, Escolastica (Jeramiah Burns) Flores of Mears, Guadalupe Flores of Lansing, and one son, Israel Flores Jr. of Ludington; eight grandchildren, Ruben Jaramillo, Gabrael Burns, Kaine Burns, Bianca Flores, Elijah Flores, Israel Flores III, Joshua Perez, Lizette Cruz; two sisters, Lupe Collins of Ludington, Hilda (Dan) Jankowski of Ludington, and three brothers, Joseph Hernandez of Ludington, Juan Hernandez of OR, Enero (Mary) Hernandez of Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Richard, Jesus, Pablo, and Daniel Hernandez.
The Mass of Resurrection for Mrs. Flores will be offered Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas Bolster presiding. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 6:00 pm at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Hart. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hart and Thursday from one hour prior to the service at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 316 South Peach Street, Hart, MI. The family requests that any memorials be directed to American Heart Association.
