Tanya Rae Jeffries, 79, of Muskegon, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born July 31, 1946, the daughter of Royal and Arlene (Camps) Peterson.

Tanya graduated from Montague High School in 1964. After high school, she received a Bachelor's Degree from Grand valley State University in Criminal Justice. She retired as a social worker for the State of Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services, working in both Muskegon and Hart areas.

She enjoyed reading (especially Stephen King), babysitting grandchildren, movies, theater, and music.

Tanya is survived by: her sons, Kurt (Tracy) Jeffries and Chris (Peggy) Jeffries; grandchildren, Dylan, Lyndsey, Nik, Alex, Kacy, Karleigh, Jennifer, Mandy, and Cody; sister, Cheryl (Alan) Koehler; brothers, Larry (Barb) Peterson and Bryan Peterson; daughter-in-law, Pamela Jeffries; and several nieces and nephews.

Tanya was preceded in death by: her son, Scott (Pamela) Jeffries; her parents, Royal and Arlene Peterson; and brother, Rory Peterson.

In accordance with Tanya's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time.
