Thaddeus Adam
Chwalibog
December 24, 1942 – June 1, 2026
Thaddeus “Ted” Adam Chwalibog, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, with his loving wife of 63 years, Diann, by his side.
Ted was larger than life—known for his quick wit, wicked sense of humor, and legendary storytelling. He was exceptionally intelligent, with an incredible memory and a passion for sharing knowledge. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found great joy in passing down these traditions to his children and grandchildren.
Ted was born on December 24, 1942, in Kraków, Poland, to John and Stella (Kowal) Chwalibog. He was deeply proud of his Polish heritage throughout his life.
On September 5, 1964, he married the love of his life, Diann, and together they built a family grounded in love and dedication.
He is survived by his wife, Diann; his children, Rebecca (Paul Mead), David (Stephanie Dailey), John (Kelly), and Adam (Stephanie); his brother, Andrew (Eileen) Chwalibog, Lt. Col., U.S. Army (Ret.); twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His son, David, preceded him in death.
Ted proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years.
In keeping with Ted’s wishes, no services are planned at this time.
His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
