Mrs. Thelma O. Daggett-VanderVeer, age 81 of Pentwater, died Friday, August 28, 2009. She was born March 6, 1928 in Hastings, MI to George and Marion (Gray) Martin. She married Charles Daggett on August 13, 1949 in Hart and he preceded her in death and she then married Eugene VanderVeer on February 24, 1992 and he also preceded her in death. Mrs. VanderVeer was employed as a secretary with Pentwater Public Schools until her retirement in 1984. Her interests included line dancing, dog sitting for friends and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kendra (Michael) Flynn of Pentwater; granddaughter, Kortni (Damon Vu) Flynn of Tampa, FL; brothers, Darrell (Jan) Martin of Sheridan, MI and George Jr. (Barbara) Martin of Twin Lake, MI. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marie Waid. The Graveside Service for Thelma's immediate family will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pentwater Township Cemetery, followed by a luncheon immediately after the service at the Friendship Center in Pentwater, where the family will receive friends and guests. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan or Oceana County Animal Friends.
