Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Alan Brown, 68, of Kingsley Michigan passed away in the early morning of May 13, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1953 in Dearborn, Michigan to Jack and Marjorie (Livingston) Brown.

Tom was man of deep faith and conviction. He knew a great deal about God's word and always happy to share some of its wisdom. He lived according to the Word as well, always willing to own up to his mistakes and having the courage to hold others accountable, too. He was a skilled handyman, able to fix anything in or around a house, and always loved the opportunity to teach someone else how to do the same. He was also a lover of the great outdoors, taking hikes and hunting to better enjoy God's creation. Some of the best memories of him were formed at bonfires on the beach of Lake Michigan with friends and family.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, Jack Brown; and his sister, Donna Brown. Tom is survived by his wife, Carlene (Young) Brown; his mother, Marjorie (Livingston) Brown; his sisters, Annette Brown and Sharon (John) Shaw; his brother, Ray (Betsy) Brown; his children, Christine (Derek) Hobbs, Justin (Brooklynn) Brown, and Nathan Brown; and his granddaughter, Holly Brown.

A memorial service will be held at Bible Baptist Church in Traverse City on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM following a visitation at 9:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp and the Benevolent Fund at Bible Baptist Church.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell – Kingsley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
