We regretfully announce the passing of Thomas R Sedlacek, 73, of Mayfield, Michigan, on March 15, 2024. Tom was born on March 28, 1950, to Ray and Lorene Sedlacek in Traverse City, Michigan.  After graduating from Kingsley High School in 1968, he then went on to join the US Navy where he became a Corpsman dedicated to helping those around him.

After his time in the military, he worked various jobs including being part of the EMS team before following in his father's footsteps and beginning his career as a machinist at Cone Drive in Traverse City.  After retiring in 2012, Tom spent his time reading, playing with his grandchildren, walking in the park with his dog, visiting family, and forever trying to learn something new.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Sedlacek; his father, Raymond Sedlacek; and brother-in-law, Ron Anderson.

He is survived by siblings, Alice Anderson, Steph (Lilean) Sedlacek, and Kris (Ray) Yanska; daughter, Melaina (Tony) Carr; and grandchildren, Eliza and Logan Carr. Additionally, he will be missed by the countless people who considered him a brother, dad, or grandpa, through the years.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM, Monday March 25, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, 200 North Brownson Avenue, Kinsley, Michigan 49649.
