Mr. Timothy Allen Kaat, age 44, of Mears, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born April 26, 1970, in Hart, Michigan, to Debbra Johnson. Tim graduated from Hart High School with the Class of 1988 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988-1992, including Operation Desert Storm. He was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver and was a member of American Legion Post #234. Tim was an amazing son, father, and grandfather and a great brother and uncle. He loved driving and maintaining his truck.

Timothy is survived by three daughters, Katlyn (Fiancé Caleb Flanery) Kaat of Ferry, Elizabeth (Cameron) McCulley of Ft. Bliss, Texas and Mears, and Megan Kaat of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Aurora Flanery, Daemon Flanery, and Penelope Kaat; his mother, Debbra, and his step-father, Bill Barefoot, whom he considered his father, of Mears. He is also survived by one sister, Heidi (Mike) Moul of New Era; one brother, Benjamin (Anne) Kaat of Hart; a step-brother, Joe (fiancée Amy Robbins) Barefoot of Muskegon; his grandmother, Marion Feldt of Hart; and his beloved dog, Molly. He was preceded by his adopted father, Michael Kaat, and his grandparents, Axel and Leota Johnson.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Kaat will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at King Funeral Home-Hart with Pastor Mark Baker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at King Funeral Home-Hart.
