Obituary

Timothy Richard Snyder, 72, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, after facing Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease with quiet strength.

Born on May 1, 1954, Tim grew up in Kingsley, where he spent most of his life. As a young man, he worked on his grandfather’s cherry farm and in a sawmill before beginning a 45-year career at Sara Lee. There he met the love of his life, Patricia, and together they shared 50 years of marriage.

A dependable, hardworking man, he took pride in his work and enjoyed the friendships he made during his years on third shift. He also proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter for 20 years and was a member of the Kingsley Sportsman’s Club.

Tim wasn’t a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. Through his quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering work ethic, he taught his family by example. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family.

He loved hunting and fishing with his sons, gathering at deer camp, his daily call with his twin brother Tom, going out for fish dinners, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and enjoying an ice-cold beer with family and friends.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Snyder; his sons, Maxwell (Sara Rush), Timothy II (Jennifer Millward), and Mitchell (Amanda Traicoff); his cherished grandchildren, Jake, Chloe, Jared, Brady, Rylan, Gavin, and Carter; his siblings, Jessica, Tom, Kim, and Kathy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Kathryn Snyder.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, August 1, atbeginning at10:00 a.m. at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, 200 N Brownson Avenue, Kingsley, Michigan  49649. A funeral service celebrating Tim's life will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a graveside service. A luncheon will follow at the Kingsley Sportsman's Club.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
