Mr. Tom Greiner, age 87, of Hart, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. He was born June 10, 1927, in Hart, to Leo and Carrie (Foster) Greiner. He graduated from Hart High School with the Class of 1945, graduated from Michigan State University in the agriculture program, and served in the United States Army. On April 24, 1954, Tom married Marge Hawley at St. Gregory Catholic Church; they were married sixty years. Tom farmed his entire life with his brother, Bud, in Crystal Valley. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed his children, and all his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa". Tom enjoyed skiing with his family; he was also a passionate golfer which he truly enjoyed later in life, as he wintered with his wife, Marge, in Florida.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marge Greiner of Hart; two daughters, Jane Greiner of Pentwater, and Janet (Karl) Larson of VT; five grandchildren, Michael Greiner, Andrew Greiner, Travis (Lori) Johnson, Tara (Ryan) Propst, Cody (Fiancée Heidi Doran) Larson; three great-grandchildren, Myca, Rhet, and Neve Johnson; four sisters, Delores Martens of FL, Pat (Leo) Rasch of Grand Rapids, Bev (Gene) Rasch of Grand Rapids, Vonnie Greiner of Grand Rapids; one brother, Bud Greiner of Hart; brother-in-law, Jeff Buie of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Greiner; a brother, Burt Greiner; a sister, Fritz Buie; sister-in-law, Judy Greiner; and brother-in-law, Harv Martens.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Tom will be offered Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare with Father Edward F. Boucher presiding. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420.
