Victoria Smith Brandel, 83, of Muskegon, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023. She was born January 10, 1940, the daughter of Sam and Jane (Hollon) Smith.

Victoria married Henry Brandel on September 8, 1955, and spent 66 loving years together. Together they raised six boys and then went on to open several Adult Foster Care homes in the Muskegon area.

In 1969 she went to Muskegon Community College where she was able to obtain her LPN License in 1970. Victoria worked as an LPN for Hackley Hospital for many years.

Victoria enjoyed crocheting, being in the kitchen cooking and baking, shopping, traveling, vacationing with her grandchildren, having family parties, spending time with loved ones, going out to eat, and going to concerts. She LOVED Cher. Victoria also enjoyed helping at the food bank at their church in KY.

Victoria is survived by: three children, Henry (Linda) Brandel, Fred (Sandy) Brandel, and Roger (Kris) Brandel; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Victoria was preceded in death by: her husband, Henry Brandel; parents, Sam and Jane Smith; and three sons, Jonathon Brandel, Jeffery Brandel, and Larry Brandel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, with visitation taking place one hour prior to service. Interment will follow the service in Oakhurst Cemetery.
