Victoria B. Grimbilas age 89, of Ludington, passed away Friday May 8, 2015 at home. She was born December 27, 1925 in Detroit, MI to Panagiotis and Eleni (Sprangis) Bolanis.
Victoria lived for many years in Redondo Beach CA. She was employed in the health care field where she contracted Tuberculosis and was confined to a sanatorium for many years. Fortunately, she recovered completely. Victoria moved to Ludington, MI to be near her family and soon Ludington became her home. She was especially proud of her Greek heritage and her deep faith was an inspiration to all that came into contact with her. May she rest in peace and be forever remembered.
She is survived by her son, Michael Grimbilas of Vera Cruz, CA; sister, Kuriakoula (Kirri) Floratos of Rothbury, MI; nieces, Helyn Bolanis of Toledo, OH, Vicki Bolanis of Dearborn, MI, and Elaine Floratos of Rothbury, MI; nephews, Peter Bolanis of Toledo, OH, Charles Bolanis of Toledo, OH, and Mark Bolanis of Dearborn MI; eleven grand- nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Betty Bolanis of Dearborn, MI; along with her friends, Beth Henrickson and Karel Schott both of Ludington, MI and Betty White of Bennington, VT. She is also survived by her loving caregiver Barbara Natschke. Victoria was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Panagiota (Naya) Smith, Kostantinos (Charles) Bolanis and Evanghelos Bolanis.
The Memorial Service for Victoria will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at King Funeral Home, 301 N. Jebavy Dr., Ludington, with Fr. Wayne B. Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior the service at the funeral home. Victoria's final resting place will be in Toledo, Ohio.
