IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vincent Paul
Greiner
October 13, 1955 – September 17, 2025
Vincent Paul Greiner, 69, of Hart, passed away September 17, 2025. He was born October 13, 1955, in Hart, to John and Agnes Greiner. He was the sixth of eleven children and had several fond memories of growing up in a large household.
Vincent was in the National Honor Society at Hart High School, graduating in 1973, and graduated from Michigan State University with high honors in 1977, with a bachelor's degree in Crop and Soil Sciences. After college, he returned to the farm he was raised on, forming a limited partnership with his mother Agnes in 1981 where he grew asparagus, cherries, peaches, and apples until he retired in 2021. He was well known among friends and family for giving gifts of whatever crop was in season.
Vincent was a big sports fan, especially of Michigan State and Detroit sports, and kept season tickets to MSU football games since he was a student, attending nearly every home game during that time, through the good seasons and the challenging seasons.
Vincent married Jonda Hook on October 22, 1983, and they had two sons, Nicholas and Bryant. He loved his family very much and would do anything for them. He was very active in his community, serving at various times on the National Asparagus Festival Board, Oceana Soil and Water Conservation Board, Oceana Planning Commission, St. Joseph's Parish Council, and Weare Township Zoning Board of Appeals. He believed strongly in education, serving on the Hart School Board of Education for 13 years and was currently serving on the West Shore ESD Board of Education. He was a lector at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Weare and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. His humor, advice, and especially his love, will be greatly missed.
Vincent is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Jonda (Hook) Greiner; sons, Nicholas Greiner and Bryant (Anna) Greiner; grandson, Logan Greiner; sisters, Margaret (Leo) Kennedy, Sheila Greiner, Virginia (Bruce) Reed, Karen (Larry) Larder, Delores (Jim) Sahakian, and Marcia (John) Muczynski; brothers, John (Cindy) Greiner and Peter Greiner; sister-in-law Janice (Rodney) Larson; sister-in-law, Jane Hook; brothers-in-law Jan (Theresa) and Jon (Nancy) Hook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vincent was preceded in death by: his parents, John Nicholas Greiner in 1967 and Agnes (Daly) Greiner in 2012; father-in-law, N.J. Hook in 1993; mother-in-law, Thelma (Kokx) Hook in 2013; and sisters, Judith Greiner in 1951 and Martha Greiner in 2004.
