Virginia Louise (VanderLaan) Pekich, 97, of Hart, passed away September 30, 2018, and Tom Pekich Jr., 94, of Hart, passed away January 9, 2016. Virginia and Tom joined their hearts in marriage July 29, 1967, in Muskegon. Tom proudly served his country in the US Navy, June 1942 April 1947. Virginia and Tom are survived by: their children, Fred VanderLaan and Gordon VanderLaan; grandchildren, Michele VanderLaan, Cathy Sommers,Tammy Wendt, and Tim (Becky) VanderLaan; and great-grandchildren, Megan, Britni, Breanna, Kourtney, Kyle, Austin, and Lauren; great-great-grandson, Ky'Rin; and Virginia's sisters, Barbara Dyer, and Ruth Flintoff. Virginia was preceded in death by: her parents, Glen and Dora Flintoff; and siblings, Glen Flintoff, and Ruth Holmes. Tom was preceded in death by: his parents, Tom and Helen; and siblings, Steve Pekich, John Pekich, Mary Kozicki, Barbara Thielman, Peter Pekich, and Ann Emery. Their daughter-in-law, Linda VanderLaan, passed away on October 28, 2018. Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, June 22, 2019, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 N 72nd Ave, Hart.
