Mrs. Virginia May Hill, age 88, of Jackson, and formerly of Hart, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012. She was born August 10, 1923, in Shelby, to Christian and Naomi (Purdy) Near. She married Carl Edward Hill on February 21, 1946, in Shelby. They were married 60 years before he passed away in 2006. After his passing, she relocated to Jackson to be near her daughter and son-in-law who became her caregivers. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hart, and Northwest Baptist Church in Jackson. Virginia was known as a kind, gentle person and was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Allegiance Hospice in Jackson for their care of Mrs. Hill in her final illness.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Marcia Kay (Ed) Koslosky of Muskegon, and Shirley Ann (Hal) Jankusky of Jackson; and one brother, Burton (Vivene) Near of Spokane Valley, WA. Her three grandchildren Jodie Lynn (Lane) Law of Morgantown, IN, Eric Wayne Jankusky of Jackson, Michael Edward Jankusky of Jackson, and two great grandchildren, Justin Ray and Brittany Kay Law, both of Morgantown, IN, also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her son, Gary Duane Hill, and her step-father, Percy Weicker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 11:00 am at King Funeral Home in Hart with Pastor Hal Jankusky officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery.
