Obituary

Mr. Wallace G. Terryn, age 92 of Crystal Valley, died Wednesday January 13, 2010. He was born on October 4, 1917 in Crystal Valley to Peter and Vivian (Unger) Terryn. On January 16, 1943 in Crystal Valley, he married the former Maxine Morehouse. Mr. Terryn had farmed his entire life, but also was a factory worker at Teledyne Continental Motors for 28 years and also had worked on the Ludington Pumped Storage Project. He was a member of the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church. His interests included fishing, hunting, woodcutting, dancing, gardening, playing cards and traveling. He loved his family and watching the grandchildren playing ball. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maxine Terryn of Crystal Valley; their children, Marva (LaVerne) Staples of Shelby and Terry Terryn of Twin Lake; 2 grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Herrick of MA and Tammy (Rocky) Smith of Walkerville; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew Staples, Tristan and Skylar Smith; 1 brother, Howard (Jean) Terryn of Walkerville; 1 sister, Wilma Whelan of Whitehall. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Funeral Service for Mr. Terryn will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Worley officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church or to the Crystal Valley Care Fund.
