Mrs. Wanda Elaine Lipps, age 89, of Hart, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013. She was born June 2, 1924, in Hart, Michigan, to Daniel and Bertha (Croff) Berger. She was a graduate of Hart High School in 1942 and had attended college. Wanda was united in marriage to Donald Lipps on October 3, 1942, in Muskegon; he preceded her in death on November 26, 2002. She was a homemaker, was employed at Stokelys, and was a member of the Hart Congregational United Church of Christ.
Wanda enjoyed her circle of friends going out together to the casino, eating out and returning to each other's homes for dessert and to play cards. She loved to have her grandchildren over to play Uno with them. She will also be remembered for her cooking, canning and her flower gardens. Wanda was an avid reader and loved being out of doors and attended summer music concerts at the Hart Historical District and the Village on the Green in Pentwater.
Wanda is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Gray of Wyoming, MI and one son, Gary (Patty) Lipps of Orlando, FL. She also has two grandchildren, Tamra Sandusky of Cedar Springs, MI and Darren (Rose) Lipps of Oahu, HI and four great-grandchildren, Kristie Sandusky and Irene, Dillon, and Donald Lipps. Along with her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents and her eight siblings, Lester, Pearl, Millie, Atlee, Norman, Gale, Lorraine Kimble and Danny.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Lipps will be Friday, January 3, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the King Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Boehne officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home.
