Mr. Wayne D. Swihart, age 75, died Thursday, November 22, 2007. He was born January 11, 1932 in Hart to Alonzo and Mary (Stull) Swihart. Wayne was united in marriage to the former Ethelyn Campbell-DuMonte on January 3, 1970 in Grand Rapids. He was employed in construction and Buildings Plus in Hart. He had also farmed for many years on the family farm located on Oceana Drive in Hart. Wayne enjoyed woodworking and woodcarving, hunting, camping with family and friends. He loved to meet people and always said that no one was a stranger. Wayne was a strict disciplinarian, but always placed his family first in his life. He was one that was never lost for directions. Wayne also loved his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ethelyn; his children, Duane (Kathy) Swihart of New Era, Steve (Gladys) Swihart of Hart, Sandy (Paul) Rosse of Hart, Dan (Kris) Swihart of Hart, Rick (Joyce) DuMonte of Houston, TX, John (Karen) DuMont of New Era, Mike (Monica) DuMonte of Hart, Joe (Terri) DuMonte of Hart, Pete (Jolyn) DuMonte of Carey, OH and Dave (Michelle) DuMonte of Hart; two sisters, Ethel Sobers of Hart and Flossie Roth of Muskegon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Pauline King, Fern Swihart and Freda Peeraer; two brothers, Ernest Swihart and William Swihart. The Funeral Service for Wayne will be held Monday, November 26, 2007 at One O'clock from the Tate-King Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ben B. Lester officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
