William Henry Benson, 72, of Hart, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born January 6, 1951, in Chicago, the son of Henry and Rita (Puhl) Benson.

Bill was a proud patriot who was devoted to his family and career; he was employed for 30 years with the Public School District #88. He faced many obstacles in his life and was able to overcome them by pure determination and hard work. Bill was a kind man that loved to have a good time and joke around, which made him a good brother, and an even better uncle. Bill enjoyed spending his free time tinkering on vintage cars.

Bill is survived by: his sisters, Annette (Richard) Janes II, Janet Benson; and Rosemary (Robert) Baines of Seattle, Washington; Niece, Elizabeth (Chris) Davis; nephews, Richard (Tanya) Janes III, Adam Baines, and Christopher Baines; great-nieces, Cierra Davis, Alayna Davis, and Lyla Janes; and great-nephews, Haden Janes, Hunter Baines, and Ryan Baines.

Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brothers, Charles Benson and John Benson.

Private interment will be held in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
