William Michael “Bill” Efeney, age 86, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pentwater, Michigan, and was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Bill was born to Bill and Marie Efeney and lived a life defined by faith, hard work, service, and devotion to his family. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Bill began working at just 9 years old and, through decades of determination and perseverance, retired as a successful businessman. Throughout his life, he remained dedicated to serving his church and his community, always willing to lend a helping hand and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Above all, Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, JoAnn Efeney; his sister, Marylin Rector; his children, Susan Cooper (William Cooper), Kelly De Nunzio (Dino De Nunzio), and Michael Efeney (Amy Efeney); his cherished grandchildren, Carlee Efeney-Nelson (Tommy Nelson), John Anclien, Jenni Keim (John Keim), Trey Efeney (Danni Efeney), and Nicole Anclien; and his great-grandson, William Michael Efeney IV.
Bill will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous spirit, his dedication to serving others, and the deep love he had for his family. His kindness, wisdom, and example will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hart, Michigan, on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Bill’s life and to honor the legacy of a man who faithfully served his country, his church, his community, and those he loved most.
