William "Bill" Gerald Anderson Sr., 92, of Ludington, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at home with his wife, Barb, by his side.  He was born June 1, 1925, in Muskegon, the son of Ernest and Cecil (Squires) Anderson.

Bill was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy, and was a member of the Edwin H. Ewing American Legion Post #76 in Ludington.

Bill worked as a union carpenter for over 30 years until retiring in 1984.  In his spare time Bill loved fishing, going dancing and enjoying a boilermaker or two.  He was a member of the Ludington Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge 637 of Ludington.

On July 30, 1979, in Ludington, Bill married Barbara J. Butler, who survives him.  He is also survived by: his sons, William (Becky) Anderson Jr. of Freesoil, and Jan (Sue) Anderson of Freesoil; 2 step-daughters, Cathy (Gary) Gray of Bryant, Arkansas, and Pam Dean of Alma, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Callie LaBarr of California.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service-Pere Marquette Chapel. 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
