William Gerald Miller, 86, of Grand Haven, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born February 1, 1938, the son of Richard and Emma (Bailey) Miller.
Bill was raised in Muskegon and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1956. After high school, he received an Associate's Degree from Muskegon Community College. William worked for GTE, Verizon, Frontier, Mercy Heath, and Trinity Health Systems.
Bill was an active member of the Elks BPO #274, Past Exalted Ruler. He loved golf and was a big University of Michigan fan. He was very active in the Episcopalian Church at St. Gregory's, in Muskegon, St. Peter's, in Montague, and St. Paul's, in Grand Haven.
Bill is survived by: his wife, Mary Ellen; step-children, Bill Jellema and Jane Weatherford; grandchildren, Steffanie Jellema and Cameron Weatherford; great-grandchild, James Thomas; and great-nieces, Amy, Brenda, and Lori.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, David; sisters, Joyce and Floris; daughter, Tracy Lynn; and nieces, Glenna and Carolyn.
Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Peter's By the Lake, 8435 Old Channel Trail, Montague, MI 49437. Following the service, a light luncheon will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's By the Lake or Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care of West Michigan.
